Phase II of construction is now underway in the Central Parking Deck in Downtown Plymouth. As of April 16, work has now moved from the south end of the upper and lower deck to the middle lane of the deck. The crew is expected to leave the outside lanes open for traffic flow.
As in past construction projects at the Central Parking Deck, the DDA has secured the Christian Science Church parking lot on Ann Arbor Trail…just west of Harvey St…for non-time limited parking. In other words, all day without the threat of receiving a parking ticket.
The DDA has also received permission from the Plymouth Arts and Recreation Center (PARC) for downtown business owners and employees to park you vehicles at their lot without the threat of being ticketed or towed.
The Central Parking Deck, and all other municipal parking lots, will continue to have time limits enforced during the renovation.
We have also added temporary Handicapped Parking spaces on both the lower and upper levels.
Within a couple of weeks…work will begin on the pedestrian walkway from the upper level of the deck, which leads to Main St. At times, that walkway will be closed, as well as the stairs leading down to the alley. When that occurs, those wanting to get to the lower level will need to use the elevator at the medical center. We will let you know when that will occur.
